  • In one sentence, tell us who BoConcept Trade & Contract are?

BoConcept Trade & Contract in London is the B2B division of the internationally recognised brand BoConcept, delivering furnished solutions across the residential, commercial and hospitality sectors.

  • How can BoConcept Trade & Contract add value to the UKAA community?

Launched in 1952, leading Danish design brand BoConcept is one of the prominent names globally in premium furniture, lighting, and accessories. With a network of more than 350 brand stores in over 65 countries, we bring a vast wealth of knowledge and experience from every corner of the globe which we are happy to share for the greater good of the UKAA community. Being a consumer centric brand at heart we strive to elevate life for everyone with Danish design, and this mission inspires our motto: Live Ekstraordinær.

  • Why have you chosen to become a UKAA Corporate Sponsor?

The UKAA has demonstrated itself to be the leading association in the build to rent and single-family rental sectors in the UK. The range of events from Expo through to the Annual Conference and everything in between along with the supplier forums and study tours are excellent. They provide a great opportunity to network with potential clients and like-minded suppliers with whom we can share knowledge and learn from.

  • How can BoConcept Trade & Contract contribute towards the liveability of a build to rent development?

Through Danish creativity and craftsmanship, we elevate spaces with iconic design that brings joy and inspiration, collaborating with some of the most respected designers in Denmark and further afield to be timelessly on trend. We have a large team of interior designers who understand the importance of liveability and how great quality design contributes significantly to overall tenant satisfaction.

Our furniture can be customised exactly to the needs and requirements of tenants. We are renowned for our modularity, functionality, and uncompromising quality – all expressed with effortless style. Materiality is everything, which is why we offer more than 120 different fabrics and materials to choose from. When you combine a pleasing colour scheme; free-flowing and functional space, perfect mood lighting and clever storage, you get pleasurable home experiences and a happier life.

  • Can you highlight any key partner relationships and outline what value or benefit you’ve added to their rental offering?

We provide a turnkey build to rent solution to investors and developers. Over the last five years, we’ve delivered over 3,000 units to companies such as Uncle, Get Living, Imperial College, Apo, Westfield, and many others. We currently have more than 2,000 units pipelined for delivery within the next 24 months.

With international recognition and aspirational perception, our brand brings substantial added value to our partners. We develop beautiful designs from the best materials to ensure a high, enduring quality. That’s why we offer a 5-year warranty on all our product designs – but of course we expect them to last much longer.

  • As a supplier, how are you able to add value across various aspects of ESG?

Our ambition is to manufacture products with as little impact on the environment as possible. We continuously strive to make environmental improvements in the production of our products as well las the logistical processes involved in delivering BoConcept products to customers, thereby making sure that the effects of our business leave as little of a footprint on the global environment as possible.

The fact that 95% of our furniture comes from Denmark and other parts of Europe and not from the Far East means that our carbon footprint is significant lower. Since January 2021, BoConcept’s production and office facilities in Denmark have used 100% renewable energy from wind turbines, which has reduced CO2 emissions significantly.

In 2009, we joined the UN Global Compact and adopted the BoConcept CSR policy, which forms the framework of our CSR initiative. Our priorities have been formed and are based on the UN Global Compact’s 10 principles relating to human rights, employee rights, respect for the environment, and a prohibition against corruption.

  • Tell us about your aftercare service.

Our delivery and installation teams are experienced BoConcept employees – reducing customer claims levels and damages. Our UK after-sales service teams’ partner with our team in Denmark, ensuring unrivalled product support and provide a fast-track parts service. The fact that we manufacture internally, we hold spares for many years even if the product line has become discontinued. We also offer the service to re condition products over time to give them a new lease of life.

  • BoConcept is recognised as leading furnishing company, established for over 70 years. How does that legacy and scale benefit specifiers/operators and renters in the build to rent market?

The vertically integrated nature of our business and the sheer scale of our operations, allow us to bring the very best value for our partners and bring a sense of aspirational living for those renting apartments furnished by BoConcept.
