Get involved: Research into pets in BTR

A new opportunity for UKAA members to contribute to new research investigating the costs and benefits of pet ownership in private rentals.

The UKAA has been approached by researchers at the Healthy Housing Initiative, University of Huddersfield and the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR), Sheffield Hallam University, who are undertaking research to investigate the costs and benefits of pet ownership in private rentals. This project has been funded by Battersea Dogs & Cats Home.

As part of the project, the research team are looking to speak to Build-to-Rent operators to understand their experiences of letting to renters with pets, the types of damages/costs associated with this activity (if any), and the benefits of this activity.

If UKAA operator members should wish to contribute to this research, please contact Dr Tom Simcock (University of Huddersfield) at [email protected] to share your experiences.
