The UKAA Annual Conference 2016

On Wednesday 2nd & Thursday 3rd November 2016, the inaugural UKAA dinner and conference was held at The Grange St. Paul’s Hotel in London. UKAA Roundtable: Bad Debt

The session ‘Bad Debt’ was be presented by Brethertons, and the agenda was as follows: 1)      Credit control: identifying a debt issue and follow-up; 2)      The tenancy agreement: suitable/unfair clauses regarding defaults. 3)      Deposits: legislative restrictions on use as security against arrears. 4)      The implications and effect of the debt pre-action protocol; 5)      Dispute Resolution – options for the landlord.

UKAA Right to Rent Roundtable Event

Following the success of our first two roundtable discussions; the first one concentrating on the Tenant Fee Ban consultation, and the second one focusing on AST agreements, our third was all about 'The Right to Rent' which generated yet another very interesting topic for discussion! There is no easy answer to ensuring that the residents who wish to rent our properties meet all the necessary criteria, however, open discussion and engagement with other agencies, including DCLG, is on our agenda.…
